Venezuela's National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs commemorates 51 years of institutional history with a concert schedule that will reach the central area of ​​Guatire, Miranda, this Saturday, February 7.

The activity, organized by the Guarenas-Guatire axis, seeks to celebrate the consolidation of the pedagogical model founded by teacher José Antonio Abreu in the country.

The presentation will be given by the Aldemaro Romero Regional Orchestra, belonging to the Alma Llanera program, under the direction of maestro Carlos Alexis Escalona.

In Guatire, the system is made up of the Vicente Emilio Sojo Nucleus and the Alma Llanera Nucleus.

The group will perform from 4:00 pm at the traditional Kañamarga Corner, Zamora Street, in the heart of the city, with the special participation of the legendary Kañamarga party group, directed by Raúl Álbarez.

The musical program designed for the day includes genres representative of the extensive Venezuelan musical identity: "Carmela" (fulía), "Rucaneo de Nicolasa" (merengue rucaneao), "Carrao Carrao" (pasaje llanero), "Estudio de merengue" (merengue 5/8), "La Potra Zaina" (pasaje lanero), "Llegando al Callao" (calipso), "Picaresca" (jota carupanera), "Desilusión" (joropo tuyero) and "Popurrí de calipsos", are the pieces that will be performed for the occasion.

Saturday's repertoire will be rooted in tradition.

Maestro Alexis Escalona explained that this initiative is part of a territorial expansion plan that seeks to bring the various groups of El Sistema to popular spaces to strengthen the link between academia and traditional folk music.

The celebration coincides with the 40th anniversary of El Sistema's operation in Guatire, through the Vicente Emilio Sojo and Alma Llanera centers, the latter having been active since 2011 with a great impact on the town.
