As every year, the people of Valencia celebrated the Paradura del Niño Jesús, a tradition that marks the end of the Christmas festivities in the municipality.
María Alejandra González, president of the municipality's Foundation for Culture, explained that the religious activity honors the first steps of the Child Jesus in an atmosphere of community unity.
He noted that the procession departed from the facilities of the Casa Hogar Fundación Refugios Pana, in the El Socorro parish of the Historic Center of Valencia and traveled along Av. Soublette, Rondón and Vargas streets.
"These customs, which originated in the Venezuelan Andes, have taken root in the hearts of Valencians and throughout the country, not only in the Morreños Bolivarianos commune and in this centuries-old community of La Pastora," he commented.
González pointed out that the intention of the Mayor's Office is to celebrate the culture and idiosyncrasies of the Valencian people.
"With these actions, the municipal administration reaffirms that culture and faith are fundamental pillars for the integral well-being and positive transformation of our communities," he expressed.
During the celebration, the locals sang Christmas carols and traditional songs with harmonies where violins and cuatros predominated.
