Following a technical inspection with delegates from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Mayor Silfredo Zambrano confirmed that the project has entered its final stages.

“We are fulfilling our promises made in conjunction with the IOM and the Child and Adolescent Protection System (SPINNA). This space modernizes our terminal and offers a humane and safe environment,” the mayor emphasized.

The project, which began on October 4, 2025, seeks to consolidate a protection model for families and minors in transit.

Zambrano emphasized that this center is the only one on the continent designed under strict international protocols. He also announced that the second phase of the project is already being planned to strengthen the humanitarian response capacity for both Venezuelans and citizens of neighboring countries who are transiting through the region.
